Remote Store Area Manager
The Remote Store Area Manager represents the Anglican Diocese of North Queensland in the role of overseeing and providing support to onsite store managers of the Diocesan convenience stores in the remote communities of Kowanyama and Pormpuraaw. This role is based in Cairns and involves being aware of cultural sensitivity, working cohesively with the Diocesan Finance team and reporting directly to the Diocesan Executive Board members or their delegate.
We are looking for that someone special with integrity, emotional intelligence, highly professional, and supportive to support the community, managers, and Diocese for the smooth and efficient operation of the stores.
The position includes a range of finance and administrative tasks that support the operation of the Diocesan Stores and its staff. The role requires you to contribute to the profitability and increased growth of the stores by ensuring each store meets its objectives of achieving sales and minimising expenses.
This role is currently part-time consisting of ½ day Tuesday, full days Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and ½ day Saturday (4 days per week). At present the Diocese operates two Convenience stores.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Oversee the daily operations of both remote retail stores
- Staff management/training
- Daily, Weekly and Monthly paperwork, reconciliation, and reports
- Stock control (wet and dry season)
- Build solid working relationships with staff, Diocese and service providers in the communities
- Ensure all assets of the organisation are maintained to an acceptable standard
- Oversight with all aspects of the stores functions
