Community Supervisor
The Jarlmadangah Burru Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a couple (only one 3BR house is available) to fill the roles of Community Supervisor and Store Manager. The duties are interchangeable and salaries can be re-proportioned as suited.
Intending applicants will need a National Police Check, and a Working With Children Card.
Overview
Oversee the management and implementation of JBAC’s MUNS Funding Program. As a
Community Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of
our community. You will play a key role in fostering a positive environment where residents or
members feel valued and engaged. Your leadership will ensure that community standards are
upheld, and that all interactions within the community contribute to a supportive and welcoming
atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
Community Management
• In consultation with Financial Management Contractor, staff and the Board of Directors, ensure the organisation is fulfilling its reporting and compliance obligations to Dept of Housing relating to the MUNS Funding Program.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance community engagement and cohesion.
• Monitor community activities to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
• Address and resolve resident/member concerns and conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
• Oversee the management of external support or service providers to JBAC including subcontractors, consultants, and trades people as required.
Team Leadership
• Conduct regular meetings and training sessions to ensure staff members are well equipped to support community needs.
• Provide guidance and support to staff in handling challenging situations or emergencies.
• Supervise and mentor community staff members, including community assistants or coordinators.
Operations Management
• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of community facilities and common areas.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
Communication and Outreach
• Act as the primary point of contact for residents/members regarding community activities and events.
• Develop and distribute newsletters, emails, and other communications to keep residents/members informed.
• Collaborate with marketing and outreach teams to attract new residents/members and promote community events.
Policy Development and Implementation
• Assist in developing community policies and guidelines.
• Ensure policies are communicated effectively and consistently enforced.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to enhance community living standards.
Qualities
• Proven experience in community management or a related field.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
